UTLA Art Build

United Teachers Los Angeles partnered with Lunarsol to lead the artistic direction and creative production of its March 7–8, 2026 Art Build. The two-day gathering brought educators, union members, parents, students, artists, and community members together to prepare for collective action through art.

Erin Yoshi served as lead artistic and creative director—shaping the visual direction, selecting and collaborating with participating artists, and guiding how their work would live across campaign materials.

Lunarsol produced the build from concept through onsite execution: developing participatory art stations, coordinating artwork and materials, directing the installation, and working alongside community members to produce picket signs, large-scale banners, parachutes, buttons, and posters.

More than 500 participants transformed the space into a working art studio and collective installation, producing campaign materials featuring artwork from more than 11 artists.

The Art Build created a coordinated body of protest art ready to move from studio to street—giving UTLA a bold, unified visual presence for the March 18 Fight for LA rally and future collective action.
